Shiro Basti
Shiro Basti is the process of servicing your body, just as we do with automobiles. This is a variety of Murtha Taila, where oil is retained on the head. Here warm medicated oil is kept inside a specialized container on the head for a prescribed time to have the desired effect. It is indicated in most of the Shiro roga or diseases of the head, especially of Vataja type, hair loss, graying of hair, and other psychological diseases. An Ayurvedic ear infection treatment may also be addressed through this therapeutic practice, as it is closely related to conditions affecting the head and may contribute to comprehensive well-being.
Duration of the Procedure:
Based on health conditions and body doshas, the duration of Shiro Basti for respective disorders may vary:
50 minutes for vata
40 minutes for pitta
30 minutes for kapha
Shirobasti is normally performed over a period of 7 days, but in the case of persistent health conditions, the treatment may extend to up to 2 weeks.
